Hold it right there, buster.

Every day, before we leave daycare for home, I need to give Muffin Man a pat down.

That boy has a passion for collecting. Doesn't matter what, if it can fit in his pocket, he's taking it home. Rocks, currently, are his favorite, followed closely by little toy cars. The toy cars are appearing less often 'cause daycare has FINALLY started to ban toys-from-home.

If I don't pat him down, we'll find things in the dryer. Rocks, flowers (he had a whole bouquet in his pockets, I swear), paper towels, toys. So far, I've managed to avoid letting crayons get in there, we'll see how long that lasts.

So today was a breakthrough...I sent him to school in clothes that had no pockets, no pockets at all. Aha! I thought. I've outsmarted you this time! And then he took off his pull-up and a rock fell out.

LOL. That can't have been comfortable.

Yes, rocks are cool. My two preschool-age girls are completely obsessed with rocks--and anything else they can collect and put in their pockets, down their shirts, in their hats or anywhere else they can stash them.

My daughter collects things like that too, especially rocks. She seems to be moving out of the phase a bit--it was very big in the winter, when she could fill the pockets of her jackets up with rocks. We've washed a few crayons and lots and lots of rocks and flowers too.

He's got a big scratch on his hip now. I swear, he's so smart sometimes and at others, he's the biggest goofball in the world.

That is hilarious.

G constantly collects things, and I constantly forget to check before I do laundry and end up with really clean rocks and flora and weird bits of flotsam.

Younger Daughter was a hoarder, too. I used to have to clean the sticks and rocks out of her BED. She went straight in the house, into her room, and the stuff went directly into the foot of the bed.
Rocks were her personal fave.

That is really really funny.

Our neighbor girl once tried to make off with one of Anni's plastic necklaces stuffed down her shirt, only she had it kind of bunched up and she had to put her hand there to hold it in like a miniature pregnant belly. Pretty funny. (Although we all had to act very serious about it because she was actually old enough for her to know better - 6 years. It was really hard not to laugh, though.)
