1987 was way better than 1988. If I had graduated a year earlier, I wouldn't have had to make up my own damn meme!
I liked a ton of these songs! Funny, though, because I barely knew any of the songs from my graduation year.

I agree with most of your choices, but since I was 12 in '87, I tended more toward the pop-py stuff- Control by Janet Jackson for instance- She was my friggin' hero then! I know every word to that song.
A few I've never heard of- Beethovan's Wig? Was he the precursor to Falco and Rock Me Amadeus?

'87 may have been way better than '88 but they were both way, way, way better than '89. The best song on my list was "Stand," which ok I love R.E.M. but that's not even one of their middling-best songs, might be one of their worst.
OK, to strike out something, you have to enter the strike and end-strike commands around the words you want struck through. In other words, If you want Starship to be struck through, then your post should look like this:

I count 5 or 6 songs on your list that are actually seriously good songs, not just ok given the context or something. There was not a single truly good song on my entire list.
There was an original of "Mony Mony"? (Haha -- my ignorance is showing.) Yeah, '87 was a good year. My own '89 didn't have as many good ones, to be sure. I'm still recovering from finding a number of bloggers in this community who are crossing out Fleetwood Mac! (Gasp!)
Browsing through these lists, I feel as though I need to go make a huge CD buy! I'm freakishly nostalgic for so many of these songs!
