Ooooh, books!!!

Since school let out a week and a half ago, I've read:

Alice in Wonderland (re-read)
Holes
Freak the Mighty
The Great Gilly Hopkins
Classic Fairy Tales
Zel
Blindfold Game
Danse Macabre

The first 6 are for my Children's Lit. class in the Fall, I'm trying to get ahead of the reading. I'm amazed that I missed reading Holes, Freak, Great Gilly, & Zel before. They are really fantastic. Zel is my least favorite of this group and Holes is my favorite. This is the class where we've been assigned HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm taking that one to WDW next week.

Blindfold Game and Danse Macabre have been sitting on my shelf awhile, awaiting a free moment to read something non-school related. Blindfold Game is a thriller by Dana Stabenow: terrorists threaten an American city with a dirty bomb. Really quite good, though I prefer her straight mysteries. Danse Macabre, by Laurell K. Hamilton is...well...basically it's her usual fare: Anita Blake, Vampire Executioner gets it on with her 7 or so boyfriends. Fun and sexy, but not a whole lot of story going on. But you know I'll buy her next one.

This post really should have lots of links, but I'm not feeling the linky-love tonight, mebbe I'll update tomorrow, m'kay?

Love Great Gilly and Holes. Never heard of Freak the Mighty and Zel, should look for them.

Just read "Millicent Min, Girl Genius" and "The Slightly True Tale of Cedar B. Hartley", both of which I recommend.

I'll feel silly if you've already read the HP books but I am a HUGE fan. Huge. Prisoner of Azkaban was quite good.
This is the first post of your I read (linked here I think by Angry Preg Lawyer and trying to avoid cleaning my fridge... its working!)

Another member of the Holes fan club dropping in to give some love to Louis Sachar. And the movie from a few years ago is also quite good.

Seriously? You read that many books? You're out of control...I'm lucky if I read 1 per month.
