MM woke up at 4:25 and made it to the motorboats just in time. They had a blast. I got pictures.
We went to dinner at the Prime Time Diner (at MGM, the wait staff won't bring you dessert if you haven't finished your dinner and they remind you to keep your elbows off the table). We had a really great dinner and MM fell asleep pretty much as soon as we got back to the hotel (well...first he brushed his teeth and whatnot...).
Tomorrow, we're going to the Magic Kingdom. We've decided to spend two days there rather than go to any of the other parks. This is based purely on the sheer amount of stuff to do there and the three hour nap MM took today.
KLee: We're staying at the Coronado. We chose it because it's the only mid-priced hotel with suites. MM is sleeping in the other room as I type.
WDW tip #1: Make dinner and lunch reservations in advance. Preferably before you even get here. Especially if you want to eat at Cinderella's Castle. This whole week was booked by the time we got here Sunday. We learned our lesson, though, and now have reservations at other restaurants for lunch and dinner for the next two days.
WDW tip #2: Read these tips from Chris. The only qualifier I have is that if you have 2 kids or less and you're not particularly on a budget, you should stay in the park and not have to deal with driving.
WDW tip #3: The Coronado has a marina which has foam life jackets. They will let you keep one for your whole visit if you're staying at the hotel, so you can use it in the pool, too.

Prime Time is always fun, but my family like Sci-Fi even better -- cheesy movies at a "drive-in" type experience. (Did you get yelled at for your elbows? JF did -- twice!)
Yeah, for families with little ones, MK is the pace to be. Only one word of caution though: load up on sunscreen, and carry extra with you. I'll bet MM just goes nutso in Fantasyland.
Oooh, we LOVE Coronado! Isn't it gorgeous? We've stayed there three or four times. I'm trying to find someone who's stayed at French Quarter. I want someone to see if it compares to Coronado before we book it.
As for the reservations -- yes, I should have told you to make them WAY in advance. Cinerella's you have to make at least 90 days in advance, and even then you may not get it. It fills up VERY fast.
If you have a way to get off park, try a local pizza place called Giordano's. Has the BEST Chicago style pizza I've ever eaten. There's a location near the Maingate on West Irlo Bronson (Hwy 192) Just head out of the main WDW gate, and take 192 west to Tampa. That will be the main drag right outside of WDW. Go down to the Formosa Gardens turnoff, and the restaurant is located on the left side of the road in a shopping center.

The Coronado rocks! We stayed there for the millineum (sp)... Jordan was only 1 1/2 at the time so we watched the fireworks from Epcot from the lake. It was awesome watching 2000 roll in from Disney... a trip I will never forget.

Thanks for the review of the Coronado. We won't be heading back for a couple of years, but it's good to have these things on file in my brain. I am a big fan of staying on the property (easier for us not to have a car).
I remember the Prime Time Diner! Didn't make it to MGM on our trip with AB this year, but I went back in high school (in the dark ages).
You guys are going to have so much fun with MM at Magic Kingdom!

My hubby and I went to WDW for our honeymoon and stumbled upon the Primetime Diner by chance. We thought it was hilarious, and had a softie waitress, so we didn't get yelled at once. We had a great time laughing at everyone else. One lady had "the nerve" to order a sundae when she didn't eat her green beans. She got her sundae, with green beans on top.
Suites are definitely the way to go. We just took our first overnight trip with our two year old son, and stayed at a Hilton Suites (great price, too!). I think it made bedtime much easier than it would have been for him otherwise.
