Hold me...

I'm painting our dining room. No! Really! I am!

One of the things I love about this house is its open floor plan. But it's also the reason we haven't painted since...well...we've never painted.

The dining room flows into what we call the library (in the Model it was the formal living room), there are half-walls between but no demarcation line on the wall so we're going to put up molding going up from the half-walls to the ceiling and paint up to there. I'm leaving the molding, the area below the chair rail, and the bay windows white. I know what I think it'll look like, I'm just hoping it ACTUALLY looks that way when I'm done.

This is a big step, people.

Hold me.

Oh that will be wonderful! And I understand what you mean about the open concept. I love the feel of your place, but I can see how it makes it a bit daunting to paint.

Good on ya!

Cool, a summer project already, and the ink hardly dry on your exams. I admire your drive, Liz.

Oh, that sounds like it will look really nice. And the molding's a great way to give the rooms that sense of definition. I would have just stopped painting at a certain point.

Well, I would have suggested we just stop painting at a certain point, and then Jenn would have vetoed that idea.

Newsflash! There will be green above AND below the chair rail. Chair rail and bay window will stay white.

"Before" pictures coming soon!
