Spoiled. Rotten.

God, I love my cable modem. Love it. Love it. LOVE IT.

I also love my mom and stepfather, with whom MM and I just spent a Truly Lovely weekend. Laughing, joking, eating well. Plus, I did homework while they carried MM off to have exciting adventures. But...

They have dial-up. I didn't remember what dial-up is like. It's....

It's going to my school's WebCT page and reading a chapter in a book while it loads. Seriously, I read all of Ghosts Who Went to School (a favorite from my childhood that I just bought for MM) while I uploaded my homework for my Wednesday night class. The whole book. That's how slow dial-up is.

In any case, I'm back and you folks have written far too much in 3 days.

We browbeat my mother into getting DSL a couple of years ago - we told her we'd visit more if her computer was faster! And so yesterday, I sat at her kitchen table with my laptop and surfed the web for things she needed. And bought some of them. A good time was had by all. Hope your homework went well.

It's amazing how we get used to something and can't go back...

LOL..I feel your pain...in an imaginary sort of empathic way. I understand the studenthood and the necessity of good online services. I also remember dial-up, because it was only 1 year ago that we got DSL - but, hah, my IL's beat us to it, so no more tapping and waiting.

Good to "see" you again, and glad for the Truly Lovely weekend.
