Things I didn't know before I became a parent

The throat is not the only mucus membrane that can contract strep.

Ouch! I had no idea you could get strep anywhere other than your throat. Can I ask which area of poor MM is affected? My sympathies, for sure. Little Chili is only recently recovered from his scarlet fever followed by strep throat. That was a fun two weeks...
I hope everyone feels better soon.
Chili.

P.S. Apologies if the spacing in my comment is out of whack. I'm posting from my Ipod Touch, and while it is a great device, it does mess up the line endings sometimes.

Chili, let's just say it took us a while to get to the BOTTOM of the matter.

Your spacing is just fine. And thank you both for your good wishes!

Isn't it a fascinating education, this thing called parenthood?

aaaack! the strep germies, they all suck. so do a billion loads of laundry [on the "boil and disinfect" setting].

there is much to be said for soothing baths -- baking soda, oatmeal, aveeno.

Have those Streptococcal buggers no sense of decency? Get well soon, MM.

Oh my goodness. Poor little guy! I had strep throat many, many times as a kid. I can only imagine it would be worse in other places. Ugh.
