"THAT'S Michael Jackson??"

Says my son, incredulous, on seeing the video in the last post. He'd only ever seen "Bad" and "Beat It" (as introductions to "Fat" and "Eat It"*).

"That doesn't LOOK like Michael Jackson".

No, my son, it doesn't look like the Michael Jackson you've seen in the later videos. Alas. Michael Jackson was a prime example of a person who seemed to have everything, but hated what he saw in the mirror everyday.

*Weird Al gets a lot of play time at our house. Firstly, I think he's brilliant, and secondly, there's a video of "Yoda" using Lego figures...and that's a combination that's hard to beat.

Re: MJ - no kidding. Hopefully he's at peace now.

Re: Weird Al - yes, I think he is brilliant also. Oddly enough I married a man with similar talents....Did I ever tell the story on my blog about Punkinhead parodying Hey There Delilah at Lowes a couple of years ago? Out of nowhere, he decides to announce via singing, "Ohhhhhhh I just have to peeeeeeee, oooooh I just have to pee," as the song was playing over head. Gets it from his father. Makes me laugh.

my kids are quite a bit older, and they can't believe the early MJ, either.
