Things I didn't know before I became a parent

The throat is not the only mucus membrane that can contract strep.

'Nuff said.

  2. Ouch! I had no idea you could get strep anywhere other than your throat. Can I ask which area of poor MM is affected? My sympathies, for sure. Little Chili is only recently recovered from his scarlet fever followed by strep throat. That was a fun two weeks...
    I hope everyone feels better soon.

  5. aaaack! the strep germies, they all suck. so do a billion loads of laundry [on the "boil and disinfect" setting].

    there is much to be said for soothing baths -- baking soda, oatmeal, aveeno.

  8. Oh my goodness. Poor little guy! I had strep throat many, many times as a kid. I can only imagine it would be worse in other places. Ugh.
