All done!

So Sunday was unpleasant, as was Sunday night into Monday morning, but the procedure itself was fine.

Anesthesiologist: "I'm going to add the anesthesia to your IV now. You'll feel a little dizzy."
Me: "Oops! I forgot to take off my glasses!"
Anesthesiologist: "It's time to wake up now!"

Seriously.

And the Gastroenterologist's report says I did excellent prep. So Sunday was worth it.

And I slept for 19 out of the last 24 hours.

And I don't have to do this again for another 10 years.

  1. Very glad you are all done! And you get a gold star for excellent evacuation.

My word verification is illume. As in, the gastroenterologist illuminated your insides.

  2. Glad you're done, and the ten-year follow up is a good sign.

And, funny, I always *demand* to keep my glasses on. I'm afraid they won't be available the instant I wake up, and I am quite blind without them.

  3. My glasses were on my face when I woke up. It was very odd.

  7. I need to have a colonoscopy as my dad had surgery for colon cancer about 4 years ago. The hospital rang me to hassle me when I was 3 months pregnant, and when I told them that they said "well, when you're recovered from the birth then". My GP says "when you've finised breastfeeding" so not yet, but I need to do it soon I guess. My mum claims to have had it done with minimal anaesthesia, but I'm not sure I'm up for that.

Anyway, glad you're feeing better now.
