This morning I dreamed I was making popcorn. I heard the popcorn popping, but I couldn't smell it and I knew something was wrong with that picture so I gradually rose to consciousness and realized...
Ice storm.
Which changed to sleet to heavy snow (over 4 inches so far) and is now back to ice or freezing rain, judging by the skitter, skitter on the roof.
So, no babysitter to sit with MM while I try to write a five-page paper due Tuesday. Gah.
And before you ask, MS has a ton of work to do too. We're taking turns today.

Yeah, they TOTALLY f-ed up the weather forecast, didn't they?! Less than an inch accumulation, my ASS. Luckily, we topped out at about 4 inches.
I thought of you and this post this weekend. I was doing a transport for Dr. Amber, making four stops in four different counties across Georgia. A lot of driving on back roads though farm country. On one long straight stretch of road I passed an old farm house that stood out like a sore thumb. It was an older home that sported a new paint job. The house was solid white with a very steep tin roof that was bright red. As I drove by I wondered what is would sound like during a hail storm. ‘Recon they keep ear plugs around for emergencies? And the barn was painted to match. The roof was tin on it, too. I bet the cows break out to stand outside during a storm.
Sorry. I hope you were able to get some work done.
I hope you had some cozy moments at home--along with good writing time.
