Growing

Muffin Man is growing.

He's too big for his car seats, we had to buy him a booster seat for each of the cars yesterday.

He's going on his First! Field! Trip! tomorrow with his class at Posh Place.

He's eating. And eating. And eating. And complaining that he's still hungry after he's just finished eating an enormous slice (seriously, two slices worth) of pepperoni pizza and a huge dish of ice cream.

He's not sleeping well, waking up in the middle of the night the last several nights in a row and coming into our room and trying to get into bed with us (actually me, my side of the bed). Most nights I pick him up and carry him back to his room and snuggle with him for a while there until he's fallen asleep again. Once in a while, I'm too tired to move him, so I let him sleep with us, but then he steals all my blankets.

I'm not ready for my little boy to be a big boy in a booster seat, in a big boy bed, wearing clothes that don't have a T after the number. Going on field trips for cripe's sake. Field trips!

It's all just too soon, too fast.

Awww.... I'm struggling with buying things that don't have an "M" or "mos" on the end of the sizes. And the fact that she wants to pick out her own clothes - she's nto even two! Not much longer and I have to measure her age in, GULP, years! sniff, sniff...

Aw, he's still your snuggle bug.

At least he still likes an occasional snuggle!

Yep. The loss of the T sizes is huge.

The night-time growing pains are something else.

The field trips, oh the field trips.

The conversations make it worth it, though. At least, I'm pretty sure they do.

I feel your pain - Kid L's new shoes are a women's size 8!! She's 11 and her feet are now bigger than mine.

Aww, he'll always be your sweet muffin man. He is still such a wee little boy, even though he is getting bigger. Hugs.

The milestones are so bittersweet. We just moved Miss A into a different type of booster seat (still a high back, but she uses the seat belt instead of the five point harness). I was shocked by how much older she appeared with that simple move.

At least they still love to snuggle.
