I woke up this morning at 4:00 (combination fizzy brain and sprinkler system starting up). I tried to fall back asleep and finally gave it up at 5:00. Got up, brushed my teeth, decided not to risk waking anyone by taking a shower, got my clothes and got dressed in the guest room. Did some reading of the Washington Post and you bloggers and left, getting to work at 6:15 (and I wasn't the first one here).
I do have a lot of work to do, but I'm starting to drag. The cookies in the cafeteria are stale and coffee's just not doing it for me today. I'm not feeling sleep deprived so much as just bleh.

Maybe you could close the door to your office and take a ten minute nap at your desk? For some people, it's a bad idea, but it can really help me--I actually love those quick naps.
Unfortunately, I'm in cubicle land again.
I wish I could though!!!
4AM?!?!?! I would be dying right now, Liz. Yesterday when I felt so terrible and exhausted I actually considered just resting my head against the side of the bathroom stall and taking a little nap. THAT is when I decided I needed to go home.
Ouch, HL. I hope you feel better today.
I'm really not at all sleepy (ooh! Now I sound like Olivia!) but I am draggy. Actually, I'm starting to feel a bit perkier.
go home and lie down. And tell MM to cut you some slack.
Yeah, tell MM to cut you some slack. If he's anything even vaguely like my girls, that should work. No, really, of course it'll wo ... ah, who'm I kidding?
Aw, we should have chatted! I was up from 2-5 myself, this morning. I did ok, but I'm glad I didn't have to spend the day sitting in a cubicle!
Hope you got through your day o.k. And I hope you sleep o.k. tonight.
Stupid sprinklers.
Awwww! Sorry sweetie. I have sometimes opted to crawl under my desk in the grad office.
But now that someone is paying me, I don't do that as often.
No more than once a week - tops!
Yeah. I woke up at 4:30 today. Not fun, eh?
I think I'll let my tea steep for an extra minute or two this morning....
Hope you get some sleep when you get home.
Maybe you could hide behind glasses at work and snooze. Just tell everyone you have some nasty eye infection.
UPDATE: I got nine (count 'em! NINE!) hours of sleep last night and feel much better.
~~~ENERGY VIBES~~~ headed your way!
