I believe it's a skimpy, fringy, shiny outfit worn when acting out The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Though it's possible I'm mixing up Columbia and Magenta . . .

HAPPY FOURTH, MUFFIN MAN!!! Have a fabulous day!!

Happy Birthday to Muffin Man!

It's funny, I just finished writing a blog post about something that happened when I was four years old, and I can remember thinking at the time that four was really old, practically grown up.

Do I know the Muffin Man?
The Muffin Man? The Muffin Man?
No I don't know the Muffin Man,
But his birthday is today!

Happy Birthday, big guy!

If you post a picture of one of your TtFTE track creations, I'll post one of mine and we can have a contest.

Re: Oedipus Rex

My favorite part is:

"Oh he loved his mother like no other
His daughter was his sister and his son was his brother...
When he found what he had done
He tore his eyes out, one by one
What a tragic end for a loyal son who LLLOOOOVED his MMMMOOOTHER."

(those last words are not stuttered, they're emphasized ala Jolson)

Happy Belated Birthday to the sweetest Muffin Man ever!

Liz, we should have a Lehrer singalong next time we meet!

Though I hadn't planned on teaching J. those songs quite so soon (I feel like a bad mama enough now that he's singing Officer Krupke, which has lyrics that are not so kindergarten-appropriate).

"Silent E" and "LY" are certainly appropriate. I learned "An Irish Ballad" in Summer Camp (age 9) as well as "The Hunting Song". The next year I learned "The Masochism Tango", didn't find out what it was about for another 3 years.
