Blogging for Choice

I am pro-
  • honest, useful sex education.
  • easily attainable birth control.
  • widely available OTC Plan B.
  • fully-funded social support systems, including free pre-natal care and affordable health care for everybody.
  • good subsidized day-care and respite care.
  • keeping abortion safe, legal, and rare.

I'm constantly disappointed in the "pro-life" politicians who want to ban abortion but refuse to let sex-ed be taught in schools, want to ban birth control and Plan B, won't fund services or support day-care. Their policies make it clear that the pro-life label is misleading. If they were truly pro-life, they would be pro-pre-natal care. If they were truly pro-life, they would be pro-free-health-care. If they were truly pro-life, they would be pro-Planned Parenthood, which performs cancer screenings for women at reasonable prices.

As always, the thoughts expressed on this blog are mine.

And what intelligent, reasonable, and life-affirming thoughts they are. I'm going to send Tom Daschle an email recommending your appointment as Reproductive Health Czarina.

Did you see the article in today's Post on this? According to the article, sounds like there's a (new?) branch of the "pro-life" movement that is actually starting to push for solutions (like pre-natal care, child care options, etc.). It's about time. I'd actually have a conversation with those folks.

I am with you on this one!!! I have read so much about this topic that it makes me ill. I actually stumble across more that are way on the other side of the fence than you (and me) Thank you for posting your thoughts on this!
